ToothPaste Recipe – Make Your Own!
Making Your Own beauty products like toothpaste, is more rewarding and empowering that I would have ever through. It always impress me how fast and easy making things by ourselves can be! It took me a while to get into the DIY spirit, as I would think I didn’t have the time. Truth is, I spend less, use less and what we use in the house is non toxic! You have 5 minutes? Give it a try: You’ll find many different ways online to make your paste. They often use key ingredients such as baking soda or charcoal but that doesn’t mean there’s only one way to go!
Here’s is the recipe that I prefer:
Ingredients:
5 tsp baking soda
4 tsp coconut oil
6 drops of tea tree oil
1 tsp ground sage
Recipe:
Simply mix all the ingredients together, add them to a small jar or glass recipient. You’re good to go! If you need a new toothbrush, read this post before buying anything!
Alternative Toothpaste Recipe
Here’s is an alternative toothpaste recipe I came across on Artistta blog. Love it, full of great details about glycerin too and why she went for this one. It’s a must try:
1/4 cup baking soda
1/8 cup coconut oil
1/8 cup hydrogen peroxide
1/4 tsp. stevia
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
Mouth Wash
Something I also do now, is that I added a mouth wash to my routine using a baking soda based solution. It’s very easy to make and the results are there. To make it, you need to put 2 tsp baking soda in a small bottle of warm water. Wait until the water is cool, add a few drops of peppermint essential oil and use it to wash your mouth twice per week to whiten your teeth!
